Gill & Macmillan welcome unsolicited proposals from first time and experienced authors provided they fall within our publication categories and show evidence of genuine originality and wide market appeal.
Please note that for our trade publishing we only accept proposals for works of non-fiction, we do not publish fiction, poetry, short stories or plays. In general our trade publishing focuses on books of Irish interest.
Proposals should comprise the following:
- A descriptive outline of the work highlighting any unique features
- A table of contents or chapter outline
- A sample chapter
- A brief biography (or CV) of the author, noting in particular all relevant qualifications for writing the proposed book
If you wish to have your manuscript returned, please include an appropriately sized and priced stamped addressed envelope or international reply coupons where relevant.
Due to the volume of submissions we receive please allow at least one month for a response.
